The Blackberry Tablet, 'PlayBook'

A new gadget was debuted this week at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas. The Blackberry 'PlayBook' was introduced to a few lucky contenders. No word on when it will be released or how much it will cost. It's been said that it will be at a competitive price,  no less than $500.

The PlayBook weights 0.9 lbs. It has an icon display main menu, similar to the Ipad, with a small power button and play/pause and volume controls. To wake up the device you press the power button and make a two-inch swipe on the sleeping display.

There is no 'home' key, instead you just flick upwards from the bottom of the display to the PlayBook's app switcher, then flick from the left or right edge of the screen to switch from one app to another.

The PlayBook also has Flash capabilities with which you can play YouTube videos and view Websites easily.

The PlayBook is said to have an 8 hour usable battery life.

Other PlayBook features include dual cameras, a five-megapixel lens in front and a 3MP in the back and the PlayBook's browser will be HTML5-friendly.
