Creating the Best Real Estate Classified Ad

Online classifieds are a great way to market your home. Real estate classifieds are some of the most common classifieds at websites like InetGiant, and because free classifieds don’t cost anything to run, you can market your home for free. Whether you are a real estate agent or a homeowner trying to sell your home yourself, if you want to sell real estate using free classifieds you will need to know how to write the best real estate classified ad.

Do not write anything derogatory in your classified. Don’t draw attention to any flaws no matter how seemingly trivial they might be. Disclosing this information comes at a later time in the selling process and will not help you to make a good first impression for your home.

Keep your ad concise. If you can’t adequately describe your home in about 100 words many readers will not look at your entire ad. Readers want to get all the information quickly and will quickly move on if they have to read very much at one time.

Focus your ad on the key features of your home. The kitchen, bathrooms, master suit, and living areas are the spaces most people are concerned with. By all means a spa or pool is worth a mention, but a cedar closet or architectural beam is not important if your ad is already running long.

Always include photos in your classified ad if possible. Make sure the photos you use are clear and do not include any people, clutter, household items, toys, clothes, cars in the driveway, or anything else that will detract from the home itself.

Although you may be tempted, don’t oversell your property. You should not portray a small home in town as a spacious country estate, and while this is a rather dramatic example even small misleading statements will send potential buyers running when they actually go to look at the property.
